I am a student at Fuller Theological Seminary and I am trying to discover what God has for my life. I have been married for three years and have the best wife alive. I titled this reluctant pastor not because I don’t want to be a pastor but because I know that it is a hard thing to do. I am reluctant because I have tried to run a number of times from a future in ministry, but the more I seek God the more I realize that not only is pastral ministry what I need to do but what I want to do as well. So this blog will track both my random musings as well as how I deal with the practical reality of heading into and being in ministry.

I agree with Ben… How am I supposed to visualize a guy whom I have never met without some kind of, well, visualization?
Of course, there is this blog, with all of the personality that comes through.
But I still think there should at least be some kind of head shot, the kind your publicist would hand out when you are running for president.

There is something intriguing about an individual with whom you have no connection but his words.
Your imagination is left to wander and wonder at what might lurk behind the musings of the reluctant pastor…is he as transparent and vulnerable in person as he appears to be in this medium? Does he eat sushi? Does his mother ride a motorcycle? Is he an only child? Does he sport any tatoos? A wonderful tease for the curious.

Hey James, I was just thinking about you the other day (and Pakmail of course) and then I saw your face pop up on my Facebook. Email me sometime, I’d love to catch up. Long time no see buddy.
